I feel like lately so many people are trying to make truth what they want it to be. Whatever is right for them, whatever works for them, or whatever they decide is what they go with. In other areas, the enemy influences people to believe lies. But they believe it's the truth, because he is a deceiver. I have many times been in a battle and have had to push away all the lies and thoughts coming into my mind. There is a song by Casting Crowns that I love called "Voice of Truth." The chorus goes,
"But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth."
I try to remember that when lies begin entering my mind.
I am passionate right now about going directly to the Bible for truth. Because in John 14:6 Jesus says he is the way, the TRUTH, and the life. He has told us the way is Him. And His way is always the best way, no matter what we think. I have tried to do my own things and plan my life the way I wanted it, but I realized that I don't even know what's best for myself. Only God does, and when I am able to trust Him and give Him control, I find myself in a much better situation.
So I really want to be reminded that Jesus is truth, to go after truth, and to listen to the voice of truth, when I look at this painting.
