From what I have been reading, there needs to be a change or revolution in the hearts and minds of men. There are countless examples in the Old Testament of the Jewish people, Gods chosen ones turning their backs on God. Every time they do, every time they go their own ways, they are met with downfall. What can be learned from this is we must not abandon God. It was not times of despair that God was abandon; no it was times of prosperity. It was only in times of despair and bleak outlook that they returned back to God professing their sins and begging for his mercy. I believe that it is happening now; people are wealthy and have everything they desire and in turn worship these false idols and ignore the true God. As I said before there needs to be a revolution amongst us and it needs to start now. How many people judge people before getting to know them, especially homeless people? An example would be a homeless person asking for money and do we automatically assume that they are going to spend out money and sin by either buying alcohol or drugs and therefore refuse to help them. Instead we should give them money and put faith in God that he will guide them to do the right thing and use it for food. Or even better yet why not take them time and buy them the food they are asking for, that way you help them avoid sinning. This is what the Lord wants, he wants us to go out and help the sick, the poor, the beggars, and the sinners of the world. He shows us this in Matthew 25: 31-46. “ "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."”
We need to remember this is what Jesus did; he did not sit in the temple judging people, instead he went amongst the world, amongst the unclean and welcomed them. Lastly we need to change how we classify ourselves. We shouldn’t be labeled as Christians, no a better label for ourselves would be Disciples of Christ. This fits better since a Disciple is a follower and we need to be followers of the teachings of Christ. “Fully Devoted Followers of Christ (FDFX)”
