Hello everyone! My name is Joel Phillips! I have left a few replies under the name "joel p." I plan to start blogging soon so I decided to introduce myself by letting you guys hear some of my music. I play the saxophone and I do poetry and rap. This is one of my rap songs, and it is called "Somebody". It is about trying to believe while going through life's struggles. I hope you guys enjoy it. i know it is a little different! Also, my artist name is "J-Ra". Thanks for listening!
Joel, Somebody is a hit! I really like it guy. That just might be the kiss of death though. I like all types of music, including rap, hip-hop, and folk-hop. I like T-Bone, TMac, KJ-52, DJ MAJ (Love So Beautiful), John Rueben (tame I know), Grits (Love Dychotomy A), Paul Wright, Shawn McDonald, Mat Kearney, but I really like a crunching guitar.
The melody is really catchy, the rap is great, and the female vocals are smooth. I would like to see the lyrics. That is one thing I don't like about CDs and mp3s, you miss out on the album art, bio stuff, and lyrics. Unless your young like you are and have good eyesight. Back in the day, headset on, volume doubled over, and reading album info and finding stuff in the album art
I wish I had such a great talent. Don't forget to thank God.
Thank you man! I defintely appreaciate that! And I definitely thank God for the ability! Also, you are a GREAT writer! Like I said before, I enjoy your blogs because of the passion you put in them. And there is definitely heartfelt expression in your writing! Thanks again man! I actually love John Reuben, KJ-52, and Grits as well! And, yeah, my mom jokingly told me that she didn't know how far the song could go because she understood the words! But I like that my music is relatable. Thanks again!
I could understand most of them. I like to dwell on the words as I listen to music. I get more meaning out of songs that way. There are a lot of artists that I have listened to for years and can't remember their lyrics, because I've never seen them. That's just me though. Thanks for encouraging me. Keep up your good work. Maybe I'll have one of your CDs one day.
I can get you the lyrics as well. I can post them in a blog or send you a personal e-mail through conversantlife.com, let me know how to send an e-mail through this site.
