Kids

So, I'm here at Gate C11 in Dallas Fortworth International typing away on my handheld. I thought I'd give the site a try via a mobile device. It seems to work. So far.

My wife and I have spent the last few days in Nashville visiting her good friends from college who now live there. It was't the type of trip that we usually take with lots of shopping, late nights - adult-only type stuff. No. This trip was about family and kids and the importance of life's cycle as we know it- or should.

You see, the 3 couples we went out to visit and stay with, all had kids. We do not. It was humbly to see people our age selflessly pour out all their time and energy into their children. We don't see much of this with people our age in Seattle. People having kids that is. Heck, I work in a company of 40- and only 5 people are married. Of those married couples, only 2 couples have kids.

I'm not suggesting that anything is bad here. I do think that living in a big metropolitan city like Seattle encourages individuality and a competiveness not conducive to starting a family. I've heard many Emerald City pastors boast that Seattle has more dogs than children. This has to be true. How unfortunate.

All I know is, I was personally blessed over the last few days as we visited her friends. Kids are amazing. I can't wait to have some.

Looking for a way to edit my document above...

Is there a way? Humbly should be changed to "humbling" in paragraph three.

Hey airick,

The system does not let you edit. That may be tough to understand, but it's a security issue. If a user's content gets voted to the top, then the user could potentially change the post to something different...inappropriate possibly. We had to make a choice, so we went with no edits.

Thanks,

Peter
