So I attended family prayer night at my sister's church, Frienship Baptist Church in Yorba Linda. The main topic of prayer was for the completion of the new youth center named after a active member who died in fighting for our country and left behind a wife and a baby.
Being a black Baptist Church, it was much different from the crowd at Rock Harbor, my church in Costa Mesa. It was beautiful though, listening to the prayers of others in the church's Upper Room for and hour and a half. I imagined that God must have felt the same and more in that scene.....
People clapping, a woman praying, a man singing, another harmonizing, some sitting silently in meditation, each worshipping God in their own unique way as if no one else was around, yet worshipping together in beautiful syncopation and bringing a fragrant incense before the Lord.
I should find out when the next prayer night is at my church.
