Call it a response, call it being Conversant, but this post is in regard to
Brett's recent blog about his appreciation for N.T. Wright. I'm aware Brett didn't intend for his post to be a theological treatise or even a thorough explanation of Wright's theology but since there are many common similarities between what he said and what I've heard other friends, blogs, and churches say, I thought it a good opportunity to raise my blanket concerns to their blanket praises.
The setting of the piece is Lent and Easter and the theme is hope - in fact the conclusion said that "it's all about hope...[the] surprising hope of the gospel, the hope for life after life after death."
While I think that, of any worldview, Christianity springs forth hope, I think that the picture painted by Wright (via McCracken) is hope-limiting, if not diminishing.
