I had the opportunity to meet two elite runners yesterday. I’m talking elite elite. Like corporate sponsors and world-class competitions elite. Like one of them is going to Beijing to represent the United States in the marathon elite. Some days, my job rocks. Okay, so I was a little star struck. But you know what impressed me the most about these guys? They are sold out for God. They talked about Jesus and their spiritual lives with as much (if not more) passion as they have for running (and these guys have a passion for running). And they both seem genuinely humbled and grateful by the platform God has entrusted to them to share His good news with their fellow runners and their fans. I love that. When you allow God to fully and wholeheartedly use what He’s gifted and wired you to do, you’re going to make an impact for His kingdom. Amen! P.S. You might want to check out a nifty video from the marathoner. It shows him on a training run (15 miles!), and he shares about what running means to him and what God means to him. That is so cool. I saw him in passing. He must've been on the way to your office, or he was being given a tour.
That was an awesome video...I love seeing people who love Jesus so much that that's all that matters. They are permeated with Him so much that everything else they do reflects that...
I love that.
Thanks for letting us know about this inspiring young man. Loved the video!
The video was inspiring. I am glad he learned this lesson as a young man.
