Twenty years ago scientists used radiocarbon technology to determine that the Shroud of Turin--alleged burial cloth of Jesus--originated in the Middle Ages. Now a prominent physicist is challenging those findings. He says the contamination of the cloth by elevated levels of carbon monoxide skewed the 1988 carbon-14 dating by 1,300 years.
