Is it wrong to want my boyfriend to get rid of pictures of his Ex-girlfriend?

My boyfriend and I met through our very close friends on.... facebook. I don't like admitting this but I'm getting more alright with it now because I know and really feel that God has put him in my life (He visited for our best friends' wedding and ended up staying permanently).

My boyfriend, who I'll call D, broke up with his fiance a month or two before I began talking to him. That was a year ago now and our relationship together is very serious and we're very seriously talking about and preparing for marriage sometime in the future, whenever God has this planned. But he still has pictures of his ex and himself together on facebook. This bugs me greatly but I'm not sure if I should move past this and disregard it because after all I have him and I know he loves me, or if it's acceptable to bring it up to him.

Really, what would I say and what outcome am I looking for? Why does this even bother me? I can't really put my finger on it.

Oh yeah, D also has a tattoo with his Ex's initial on his wrist. This bothers me A LOT sometimes. I don't even want to touch that with a stick because it's so much more permanent and I'm pretty sure he regrets it anyway. And once again, what do I expect to get out of touching that issue with him? Assurance that he feels regret for a relationship he was in? I don't want to make him feel bad for doing something before he even knew I existed.

Anyway, is this wrong and has anyone been in a similar situation?

I'd really appreciate some insight. Thanks. -Tess

People keep photos and mementos of people and things, even people and things they may no longer care about, because these people and things are part of their memories, are part of what makes them who they are. Some people and I will admit that I'm one of them, are reluctant to destroy pictures and cards and letters because they are a part of our past, they tell part of our story, they help to define who we are. | auto title loans
