Is there a difference between praying "in the Spirit" and using a prayer language?

Our church teaches that you should pray in the Spirit by using a prayer language. So, if I do this for an hour, should I also pray in English so I can pray for my family, the country, our leaders, etc.?

Why does God allow suffering, and why does he not stop it? Death of children,
earth quakes that kill millions. Killing of millons of children in Africa and so
on. Is he angry and just allows this stuff to happens WHY???

Do slavery and suffering discredit the Bible?

My husband recently told me he is doubting the Bible as God's word. He questions several issues in the Bible, such as slavery, incest, and polygamy as they appear throughout the Old Testament. He asks how God can be the same yesterday, today and forever, yet condone these things.

What's up with the Sabbath? Is it on Saturday or Sunday, and does it matter?

Are we still under the Law/Ten Commandments? If so, when did the Sabbath change from Saturday to Sunday? And if we aren't under the Law, then what should we do with that day?

With all that's going on in the Catholic Church, should I leave?

I'm Catholic, have been all my life. I learned a long time ago that there is corruption in the Vatican. My other Catholic friends and I are pretty disappointed about this because a religion based on the Bible and Christ's teachings is being corrupted by greed and lies. So, my friends and I decided that we disagreed with all of modern Catholicism because of the corruption, and we consider ourselves "True Catholics" because we only follow the Bible and Jesus. We prefer to stay Catholics, but in the way it was originally intended by Jesus and St. Peter.

Does God listen to and answer prayers of unbelievers, even though they believe in and worship God? I was watching a program where an American family brought an Iraqi family over to the States. They were saying grace and the Iraqi father gave thanks to God. If this Iraqi family is Muslim, we know they aren't Christian believers. So what happens to their prayers?

How do I help a Christian friend who's talking about suicide?

I have a friend who is having a really hard time with life, and lately he's been talking about dying and going to heaven because he thinks it's the best place to be. I don't think he's serious, but he's asked me what the Bible says about suicide. He knows he would go to heaven if he were to die today, but he's not so sure that would be the case if he were to commit suicide. What can I say to him?

As I grow closer to God, I am growing farther apart from my mother, who doesn't believe in God.

I wasn't raised in a Christian home. I went off to college and struggled through life without God's guidance. Eventually I moved back home because I could not manage the hardships I was facing. I finally realized that I needed God in my life and have been actively pursuing him ever since. My love, desire, and faith grow for Him everyday. There is one problem, however. As I grow closer to Him, I grow farther apart from my mother. My mom does not believe in God and feels betrayed and threatened that God has become the focus of my life. I don't know what to do.

Why doesn't God talk directly to us today like he did in the Old Testament?

Why do parents feel so guilty when they have a rebellious child? I know parents who feel like a pariah in their church because something has gone wrong with their child.
