Also, if you're at all interested in Christian philosophy, I think you should buy this book: It's a debate between two great philosophers: Michael Tooley, a renowned atheist philosopher, and Alvin Plantinga, the greatest living Christian philosopher, and one of the greatest living philosophers period. |

Right there with Doug Groothuis critique, though rather than simply pointing out obvious silly flaws I like to explore why that approach is attractive to A LOT of readers/Christians, and what misleading and unBiblical beliefs are ushered in through those writers. A Christian blogger who does some very good reviews of books like theirs is Tim Challies. You can read his reviews of the Shack, Shane Claiborne, and Brian McLaren here:

I think a lot of the reason people are undiscerning when it comes to books and teachings like that is a lack of Biblical literacy and church history. That's why it's important to study those two things. When it comes to false teachings, there really is nothing new under the sun. [I can say that as someone who's been there, done that with reading and writing like that.]
