Thoreau on The Infinite in Everything

Sometimes finding the infinite in everything can mean simply seeing what is right in front of us -- for its simplicity and beauty. Henry David Thoreau, when he looked at Walden Pond, realized this:

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

What can we learn from Thoreau's words? What are the essential facts of life? Was Paul onto the same idea as Thoreau in Romans 1:18-20? How can you discover now, so that at the end of your life you don't realize that you have not lived? Please let me know what you think.
