As gang culture thrives in LA neighborhoods, some members are finding life in "The American Dream", while still maintaining close ties to their gang affiliations. It's an interesting look at a different side of gang culture.
I find this so interesting since I have contended that gang life provides young people what Christianity should be providing - hope through adversity, unconditional love, family and fellowship. Gang members have no problem with following the rules, recruiting, and yes, obedience. The parallels between what Jesus intended for us to be to each other as a community and what gang members provide to each other in the same regard is strikingly similar.
