The Church has, for the most part, done a terrible job of responding to the AIDS epidemic. For a long time, we looked down our noses at the suffering and called it the justice of God come early. More recently, we just became indifferent to the plight of the suffering. Those with HIV/AIDS are in someone else’s backyard, like an invisible army that we can ignore until they finally go away.
And once again culture is one step ahead of us.

Help!
I live in georgia, been here 2 years now.
I am now not so sure about this Christian thing. As I did not know that I should be Conservative and right wing Republican. I took sides only when the other man running for president was smart. I really believe the man running this country should be a representative of it's people. Sorry, This has been a tough 8 years! I am very pleased that we have someone who has actually worked for a living. This someone has compassion and is quick to respond when a neighbor is in need. I was told he was an enemy of the people, that is probably why he was pushing for free universal healthcare. I was told he was inexperienced. I found out he scooped ice cream while working through college, not to mention he worked on many fund raisers for the homeless and poor. This makes him an enemy? I was told by the same people that he was the anti-christ and would take away our bibles and replace them with the Koran. I found out he is actually christian. How now can I trust my religious peers. Unlike my brethren in the church I did some research because I was always told "know your enemy". After so many wrong leanings I call out to the church, and hopefully I can continue with my walk with GOD. You see I found a friend in Jesus, but it the christians I have a problem with.
