Here's a little video that Kim and I made to show you where we live in Mongolia.
Hope you like it! Edit: If the video here doesnt work try this one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rMMO5Peabs8
Now, to anyone and everyone who reads this blog,
I have a very important question for you.
What are you most curious about or interested in, in regards to our time here in Mongolia?
Really, it can be anything.
Are you most interested in the culture and people and their stories? The story and state of the church here in Mongolia? The differences between American and Mongolian cultures? What we’re learning as young Americans living abroad for the first time? What we’re learning in our first year of marriage away from friends and family? What we miss the most? What we’re most looking forward to? Where we like to eat? Who would win in a sprint race? Who can lift the most over their head? What is a day in the life like here? What does our town look like? Where and how do most Mongolians live?
Knowing this will really help me as I communicate back to you guys – I have a pen and a video camera and I’m not afraid to use them!
Any and all feedback will be much appreciated. I really look forward to what you have to say.
Nick

My main interests: how you are handling being isolated from the people and places you are used to; how the people you encounter view American culture, politics and religion; the city streets, food, movies and popular culture; in what ways you see God using you guys there.
Justin and I loved the video!! It is awesome to be able to see you guys even while you are so far away.
I would love to hear more about the Mongolian people, their culture, religion, and what it's like for you both as Americans to live and adapt to your surroundings. I have loved the pictures too, so keep those coming! And I would love to continue hearing about what God is teaching you. There is truly an openness to your writing Nick!
And Justin would like to know about the Mongolian horses!? He says they were almost extinct and wants to know how many there are now? hahaha, so after you're done counting them all, get back to us ok?
Awesome! Thank you so much Ryan and Darla. Those questions definitely give me some angles to take.
Anyone else, please feel free to chime in.

Very "cool" video (pun intended)! I second the others above, but also really interested in "a day in the life of" you guys - what you are doing with the YWAM crew and the schools etc? And keen to hear what you are willing to share about how you are adjusting to all these massive life changes at once (i.e. new location/weather/language/culture/friends/food, AND being newlyweds no less, all at the same time!).
Also who can do the most full sit-ups in one minute?
Man, watching that video makes me miss you guys even more. What an amazing experience...I think amazing is the right word. And our parents probably thought they were rebels starting off in Seward, Nebraska. I think you've "one-upped" them.
I think what I would love to hear about (along with what else was written), is what you guys do for fun. I mean, there probably is no "guy time" out there Nick, getting together with the guys, watching some UFC, having some Scotch, going to the beach, etc. So what do you for fun? And what does Kim do for fun? Newlyweds always get enjoy the first year of their marriage just because they can be so care free and enjoy the newness of marriage. Out here that can take form in taking the occasional weekend getaway, going out for happy hour and talking about your day, having BBQs with friends, visiting family and enjoying all of the little kids knowing full well that you don't have to take any of them home after the party is over, etc.. You guys are getting to experience time together, but in a much different way. You are probably spending more time together each day than most newlyweds, so how is that? What do you guys most talk about? What do you share? What are the difficulties? Oh ya, and Nick, since there is no more kick boxing, I was wondering if you were studying some ancient fighting style from an old Mongolian warrior out there...and if so, I want some video on that. Love and miss you guys.

I just want to know what's the first song you are going to sing at the Mongolian karaoke?
Graham, Corey, and Nate, thanks so much you guys. I will try to work those questions into videos. The most entertaining will probably be the sit-ups and karaoke.
And Nate, the first song I'd do at karaoke is "California Love". C'mon now. :)

Nick and Kim - adored the video. It's utterly charming to see people so completely content when you're showing us this little modest apartment. I don't think a young married couple living on 5th Avenue could be any more proud. Your abandonment to Christ call is inspiring and contagious. Keep it up.
As for your question - who and what makes you laugh in Mongolia? The karioke? What else? Send videos of it!!
God bless!!

On the plus side, you have a much larger freezer than us. And it defrosts automatically. You could hide frozen snacks around town for later. That's a real blessing.
I'd be most interested to hear about the development of the very young Mongolian church. What's their game plan? How are they organizing themselves? Are they planning ahead for schism and disagreement, to try to minimize it? Can they learn from how the church in the rest of the world has blown it in certain respects, and preempt those kinds of problems?
The prosperity 'gospel' is huge in Africa and other parts of the world. Are steps being taken to prevent that in Mongolia?
