Award-winning young filmmaker Matthew Jones returns with another powerful urban drama. In Be the Man, 17-year-old Damien never realized that the only man he's ever looked up to might not be the best example of what it means to be a man. Damien's verbally abusive father has taught him to be strong, but that tough shell means trouble when Damien starts to treat his girlfriend the same way he's seen his parents interact. This video was amazing. It is hard believe that men treat their wives like this. How could their conscience allow it? It is common to believe that men are supposed to be emotionless, demanding, and served. How terrible we've become. Satan has tricked us into thinking that might equals right, and we've subjugated women because of it. Watching this movie was a sobering reminder of what destructive relationships can be, and it was also a joyful reminder of what loving relationships can be. I have hope though, not fear after watching this movie, hope for good relationships, for reconciliation in bad ones, and hope for us to humble ourselves as men and see ourselves as servants.
