What Kind of Love

< p> This past Sunday, I led worship at Grace Church (PCA) in Greenwich, CT, and sang one of my older songs (2002) as the offertory. Here, I offer it to you as well. You may download a free MP3 of it here.

What Kind of Love is This

What kind of love is this I see

A king lays down his majesty for a wretch like me

What kind of God is this

Unthinkable sacrifice

I can’t even give my time, my pride

Yet He gave His life

What kind of love is this?

While standing in my sin and shame

My cries the only sound

He took away the ashes, and He laid His own crown

On my head, He gave me glory He gave me beauty

Gave me a new name – He called me blessed

What kind of love is this?

What kind of love is this?

What kind of love is this?

Fairest of ten thousand, He’s a diamond

Yet a look from me just takes His breath away

I came to Him so dirty and so broken

And He took me in His arms

He cleaned me up, He asked for my hand

And then He married me

What kind of love is this?

What kind of love is this?

What kind of love is this?

I don’t understand it, but I believe it

I don’t understand it, but I believe it

I don’t understand it, but I receive it

Christy,

Thanks so much for sharing! I especially love the line He cleaned me up and then He married me. Wow! What a picture of grace!!!

I am blessed with renewed joy. Today I needed this song. God knew it, and led me here.
