What’s Your Focus?

When my husband Jeff suggested “Finding Focus” as the title for this blog because I was having trouble, um … finding a focus for it … I shrugged it off. How could I possibly that transparent as to reveal to the entire Christian blogging world that I don’t have a focus to my writing?! (So much for authenticity.)

The more I thought about it the more I realized it fit. And that it was okay to admit. After all, during the past year I have been on a journey of finding my focus – for my faith and for my life. It started when I left my career after having a baby and has continued through the loss of a parent and the near loss of belief this year. I’m still on the trek and I’m inviting you to come along. It’s been one fraught with doubt, fear and grief, but also punctuated with joy, peace and healing. I think that’s called life – life with God, in fact. So I think I’ve found a good blogging home here with ConversantLife.com.

I’ll be writing about issues we encounter in everyday life – especially those apparent in my life as a work-from-home mom of a toddler. I’ll talk about ways our faith intersects culture and how we as Christians can better impact that culture for good. I’m passionate about people finding their purpose and pursuing their dreams full-bore. If I’ve been enlightened about anything during this past year, it’s that life is incredibly short. We either live it to the full (as Jesus offered we could) or we waste it. It’s time to find focus. What’s yours?
