Qualified Answered Question
The content below is a response to a question that can be found here.

He is a Politician, Not the Messiah

I understand your question. Having been at the Los Angeles Obama campaign headquarters the night of the Iowa primary victory and a recipient of countless emails from different supporters and opponents, I have had moments of discomfort at the emotional response to the Obama candidacy (for and against).

The good news is that Barack Obama continues to disappoint many of his idealist supporters. Antichrists don't disappoint idealists. He is a politician, and a liberal one too, not the messiah. He compromises, stretches the truth, and shifts position: and each time disappointments a bunch of people who had a idealistic picture of who Obama is.

If you make more than $250,000 you might think he is the anti-christ if he is elected, but the democratic institutions of this country have weathered a fair number of charismatic politicians. I am pretty confident that if he is elected he will be replaced eight years later.

For an interesting and humorous take on this question, here is a link to Slate magazine's Obama the Messiah Watch:

In some ways I am pleased to answer such a down rated question. Partly because I am so unqualified to answer.

We actually just began a discussion of "antichrists" and the biblical definition of "antichrist" on my recent blog post. Based on your question, and the questions of others, I would like to continue this discussion, sooner, rather than later.

It seems that many people misunderstand the definition of "antichrist." I hope to bring some clarification to the matter in future posts, so keep your eyes pealed. I will also be sure and get to the "Is Obama the Anti-Christ?" question.
