Film

I love cinema. I watch a lot of films, many of which nobody else seems to have seen, and I write about what I see. I have a special affection for anything French or "art house", but I'm open to most any film that tells a good story with honesty and excellence. My all-time favorites, constantly evolving:
  • Bleu (Krzystof Kieslowsi)
  • Stranger Than Fiction (Marc Forster)
  • Paris, je t'aime (various directors)
  • Magnolia (P.T. Anderson - I love every one of his movies)
  • Amelie (Jean-Pierre Jeunet)
  • Wonder Boys (Curtis Hanson)
  • Thank You For Smoking (Jason Reitman)
  • Once (John Carney)
  • Fight Club (David Fincher)
  • The Science of Sleep (Michel Gondry)

"When there is a tendency to compartmentalize the spiritual and make it resident in a certain type of life only, the spiritual is apt gradually to be lost." - Flannery O'Connor, Mystery and Manners: Occasional Prose
