Okay, so Rick's a friend of mine. I realize that his mind works faster than his brain. But somehow, he's put together a collection of essays that probes and prods my preconceptions about faith, Christianity, life's purpose, and everything else in between. He's able to put into words thoughts and questions that I have, but haven't ever given voice to. He writing is witty and insightful. Do yourself a favor. Read this book.

Inhaled this book ~ a very easy, enjoyable read. Reading "Deep Like Me" felt like a vacation or a fun swim, and at the same time was very deep in it's message, and had me thinking. Am still thinking. Humor, experiences, humility, stories and Bible verses move you with the author to some interesting observations about ourselves and Faith. Recommend.

We all have different struggles, and we often have the wrong mindset or are too stubborn to change. As I read Deep Like Me, I was encouraged to rethink the way I approach God, people and life's circumstances. It encouraged me to seek the Lord on the different struggles in my life and how He truly wants me to live. Thanks for the hug, Rick! (:

"Deep Like Me" is an easy, but provoking read about the authors' personal lessons and his friends' experience wrestling with faith or at times "lack of faith". It explores the divine transforming touch God has on their lives and all of our lives when we get out of the way. Ricks' humble, raw look at his own faith articulates so very well the insecurities we all have, and the beauty that is revealed when we accept the gift of "Grace" with the understanding we will most likely never completely understand it.
