I am really tired of everyone screaming that the book is not doctrinal, I read it as a fiction story with a message of redemption and to depend on GOD not be independant of him. Did anyone else get that? I did not read it with the bible next to me and I don't think that was the way it was meant to be read.

Great question that I think a lot of Christians have. Before an expert answers the question, you can 'search' The Shack and find a number of opinions in the news section. Just click SEARCH on the main menu and type in The Shack. I think there are like 5 articles or more. Blessings,
Peter
i am currently reading it as "fiction" and am thoroughly enjoying it. just opens my eyes wider to the love of Jesus.
I'm curious, if you're reading it as fiction, how is it opening your eyes wider to a Jesus who is not fictional?
If I read a fictional book about George W. Bush, I am not learning anything more about who he is.
