I have a friend who is having a really hard time with life, and lately he's been talking about dying and going to heaven because he thinks it's the best place to be. I don't think he's serious, but he's asked me what the Bible says about suicide. He knows he would go to heaven if he were to die today, but he's not so sure that would be the case if he were to commit suicide. What can I say to him?
Suicide is something that seems to be in the news more these days. Whether it's the pressures of life and our world, causing people to be in despair and depressed, or the vicious verbal and emotional attacks of a peer group on an impressionable young person, suicide is a reality of our culture. And believers aren't exempt from such feelings and conditions.
