I decided I was going to fit in as much as I could without getting obsessed with taking photos even though I had decided to take my camera along. I'm not sure why this made sense at the time...but it sounded like a good idea. One stop on my list was an indoor farmer's market. I had heard the Amish had some food stands there and I had a hanker'n for some "Shoo Fly Pie." (Being Pensylvania Dutch, this is a staple for any family function so I wanted to get a taste of something that reminded me of my childhood while in town. ) As I was walking down the many isles trying to make it to my next destination I noticed these cherries. They were the most vibrant colors of red and orange I had ever seen in a cherry. I snapped a couple of quick shots headed out.
I was able to hit a couple other spots on my list but realized after I got home that I wasn't so happy with my decision to rush things. This shot of the cherries was the only one I got that day worth mentioning. I wish I would've taken the time to get more photos but at least I got this one. Next time.

Sunday -- I've been thinking this for a while, and I can't keep silent any longer. Your photos are amazing. There is a serenity to them that is startling. How could you and I see the the things, but you notice something artistic while I see nothing in particular. Thank you for making the ordinary something creative. BTW, I too am Pennsylvania Dutch. Did you notice the Bickel Potato Chips when you were in Amishland? But my heritage must have been deprived because I've never had Shoo Fly Pie. Thanks again for sharing your photos.
Wow! Thanks Bruce!
So there's actually someone else who is Penn Dutch! I can't say I run into many others! Funny, I'm more of an "Utz Potato Chips" girl but Bickel has a mean cheese curl! Bickel is located in York which is close to where most of my family is from (snack food capital!) so I feel like a bit of a trader for liking Utz but you can't beat their Salt & Vinegar chips!
Don't feel all that deprived for missing out on Shoo Fly Pie. It's an acquired taste...which I'm still trying to aquire a taste for!
Your photos add so much elegance and atmosphere to Conversant. Your work brings a sense of calm and reflection. Thanks for contributing.
